Our Doctors of Chiropractic offer a comprehensive approach to treatment utilizing specialized techniques such as Gonstead Chiropractic, manual therapy techniques, functional rehabilitation, and exercise. Our Providers receive specialized training for every joint in the body including the knees, shoulders, wrists, thumbs, and feet.

Our Physical Therapists implement "hands-on" manual therapy techniques and functional exercises to restore a joint's movement and reduce pain. They are specially trained in effective European techniques such as PNF to treat conditions more effectively than other methodologies.

Well Wave Therapy is used to treat both acute and chronic pain in muscles, tendons, and joints. Acoustic sound waves are generated, targeting tissues at varying depths to manipulate specific areas for targeted pain relief.

Nancy Erickson is a massage therapist who graduated with a Certificate in Therapeutic Massage from Northwestern Health Sciences University in Bloomington, Minnesota in 2010.

As a massage therapist, she believes in the body’s innate ability to heal itself, andI enjoys supporting her clients on their wellness journey. Her sessions tend to be blended treatments incorporating NeuroMuscular Therapy, MyoFascial Release, Relaxation Massage, Cranio Sacral Therapy and Reflexology based on the client’s needs and goals for the session. While she works with the whole body and conditions, areas of specialty in headaches, neck and back pain, abdominal massage and feet.

Dr. Chris Lawson is a physical therapist that joined Institute for Orthopedics and Chiropractic after gaining 4 years of experience at a sports and orthopedics clinic in Columbus, OH that specializes in working with runners and endurance athletes. He recently moved back to Minneapolis to live closer to family. Dr. Lawson obtained his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Minnesota in 2019. Prior to that, he earned his Bachelor’s of Science in Exercise Physiology from The College of Saint Scholastica, where he also ran cross country and track.

Dr. Lawson has experience treating a wide variety of orthopedic and sports injuries and has specialized skills in manual therapy, integrative dry needling, and running gait analysis. Chris enjoys getting people of all abilities back to the activities they love and giving them the tools to stay injury free.

In his free time, Dr. Lawson enjoys staying active with running, biking, hiking, and traveling.  He also enjoys drinking locally roasted coffee and spending time with his wife, Lizzie, and his cat, Zara.

Anna Retzke is a Physical Therapist who joined the Institute for Orthopedics & Chiropractic after over five years of experience in various therapy settings. Anna believes that successful recovery requires a multi-faceted treatment approach, including specific manual therapy techniques, tailored exercise techniques, body mechanic training for daily activities, and promotion of a lifestyle with ongoing exercise.

Following a career as a bioelectrical engineer, Anna graduated with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Concordia University of Wisconsin. Her degree in Physical Therapy has allowed her to hone her problem-solving skills, which help her identify the root-cause of patients’ conditions. She applies advanced techniques focused on treating the cause of pain taught in Fascial Counterstrain, the Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy (OMPT) Professional Development Program and the reputable Herman & Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation.

Anna has also completed a diverse selection of post-graduate training. Her most recent coursework in Counterstrain is gentle and powerful, and provides patients long-lasting relief. She is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), which gives her access to current research for exercise and wellness.
